Liverpool have won all seven of their games at Anfield this season so far in all competitions, their longest such streak to begin a campaign since 1990-91. The record  takes in  consideration the Carabao cup game versus Leicester as well as the two Europa League wins over Union St Gilloise and Toulouse. The last time Liverpool had an equal start succeeding to win the first seven official games at home at  the beginning of the campaign it was 33 years ago.

That season 1990-91 it looked like the reds under the guidance of Kenny Dalglish were on course for yet another League title. Wins over Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa with the same scoreline 2-1 were  followed by the thrashing of Manchester United  4-0.Afterwards three more wins with Derby County 2-0 Chelsea 2-0 and Lutron 4-0 came soon  after an  easy victory over Crew 5-1 for the League  cup taking the total to seven home wins in a raw. The first team that season, but left Anfield unhurt was Manchester city drawing 2-2 at the end of November 1990.

There were no European games that season as Liverpool was serving their ban from UEFA for the tragical events at Heysel stadium in the European cup final in 1985.

Unfortunately, for the Liverpool fans, the season didn’t quite go smoothly all the way. The shocking resignation of  Kenny Dalglish, in February 1991 while the team was  top of the League caused a giant collapse the weeks that followed  and Arsenal would jump to the chance to  win the title for the second time in three seasons.

That season was the one starting the very difficult period of 30 years without winning the League for Liverpool that ended in 2019-20.
